Kishtwar, Mar 11: Even after 48 hours since the renowned hotelier of Kishtwar Ishtaq Ahmed Dar was shot dead by the assailants, Kishtwar police are still clueless about the motive behind Dar's murder.
As per the details available with Early Times, several people including some females are still in the custody of Kishtwar Special Investigation Team investigating the case.
The police sources said that a few people detained by the police including two youths in connection with the case were released by the police while few more people are being questioned.
The sources said that police are working on different angles including that on property dispute, enmity, money involved in the business and other links. "The weapon used for killing the deceased hotelier has deepened the mystery as it's not a licensed weapon. It's in possession of either militants or with security agencies," sources added.
They said the deceased has no link with militancy and added that one probability is that the accused involved in the crime might have arranged the weapon from outside and smuggled it to the district and use the same in executing the plan.
The sources said that police not being able to get any leads would help the killers to escape from the district..
Meanwhile Majlis e Shoura Kishtwar today threatened mass agitation in case Kishtwar police fail to crack the case till Monday.
In a press statement issued here, Shoura committee stated that in case police fail to arrest the culprits, the committee will issue a protest calendar and if anything untoward happens, police and administration will be responsible for the same.
Later SP Kishtwar also summoned Imam Jamia Majid Kishtwar Farooq Ahmed Kichloo who confirmed to police that statement was indeed issued by the Shoura committee Kishtwar and informed the police that they would follow the call of protest given by the Shoura committee Kishtwar.
Speaking to Early Times, Immam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar said that it is not an ordinary case added that a person has been murdered. People are outraged and terrified. He said that in case police fail to arrest the culprits, the Shoura committee will go ahead with the protest call.
