Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 11: The Jammu Central Co-operative Bank Officers Association (JCCBOA) has warned action against some unscrupulous elements in the bank who are impersonating as office bearers of the Association and misguiding the senior ministers and ruling parties' leaders on the position of the Bank.
Association also demanded appointment of Board of Professionals and Managing Director with professional qualification to manage the affairs of the JCC Bank Ltd.
A meeting of the JCCB Officers' Association was held under the presidentship of Mohinder Nath Sharma to discuss the affairs of the bank in which members took serious note that some officials of the Bank with vested interests are trying to mislead the Minister Incharge and senior leaders of the ruling coalition about the proposed merger of the Co-op Banks as projected by Finance Minister in the recent budget. Members impressed for strict action against the delinquent officials who are working against the interest of the Institution.
General Secretary of the Association Rajeshwar Singh Jamwal apprised the members that the matter in question has been taken up with the concerned officials of the Bank, Minister Incharge Cooperatives with the request to look into the matter and seek explanation from the delinquent officers as the matter in hand is quite serious and has brought bad repute to the Bank and its employees. He said that these vested interests in the Bank don't want it to flourish.
Jamwal said that Incharge Minister Cooperatives has been apprised that in the absence of appointment of any Professional Board or Administrator, who know Banking, the Bank is still headless, as there is only one General Manager in the Bank who is also acting as CEO, and employees of the Bank are eager to see the government to come to the rescue with immediate implementation of the appropriate policy in hand for revival of the Bank and survival of the employees as well.
The Minister for Cooperatives has also been requested for immediate appointment of the Board of Professionals along with a professional Managing Director, in the meanwhile, to streamline the derailed system of the Bank so that any further deterioration may be put to halt.
The Minister Incharge Cooperatives has given positive assurances on all the issues projected by the Association, Jamwal further informed.
