On 24th day of strike, Nowshera people stage protest
3/11/2018 10:35:54 PM
Early Times Report

Rajouri, Mar 11: On 24th day of indefinite strike for district status, residents of Nowshera sub division today staged a large peaceful protest demonstration under the banner of Beopar Mandal and rejected the appointment of rotational ADC for Sunderbani-Nowshera.
On the other hand residents of Kalakot also observed complete bandh to get district status and offered court arrest which was also joined by the women first time.
At Nowshera various leaders despite of their party affiliations have appreciated the decision of Surinder Choudhry, PDP, MLC to resign from the MLC post and Party to support the people.
" Chief Minister has requested Surinder Choudhry not to move to Nowshera without her consent and reportedly a meeting has been fixed to discuss the Nowshera issue . We are waiting for the outcome of this meeting and if the government failed to take any acceptable decision, people have decided to continue protest under the leadership of Surinder Choudhry" said JAC members
Castigating the state government for lodging FIR against four persons of Nowshera for raising Pro-Pakistan slogans, leaders said they will not surrender to such tactics of the administration as our people have apologised for that before the general public as it was only due to frustration.
"If government continue to harass these four persons, the people of Nowshera will not hesitate to go to any extent. Where is the copy of FIR against Akbar Lone who had raised Pro-Pakistan slogans in the state Assembly" said leaders.
"Our only goal is to get district status for Nowshera and for that we can go to any extent and for any violence in the future, state government would be responsible "said a youth leader .
The decision of mobile ADC like mobile teachers for nomads is deep conspiracy to divide the people of Kalakot, Nowshera and Sunderbani on religious basis and this will be foiled by the residents of these areas, said JAC member
At Kalakot hundreds of people offered court arrest in favour of their demand of district status for Kalakot.
They also criticised the negative stand of Abdul Ghani Kohli, Minister and MLA from Kalakot in supporting their demand and SHO , Kalakot for not making necessary arrangements for those who offered the court arrest.
"District status is our right and we will continue our fight for that. We are not destitute that an ADC from Kotranka will come for 6 days to provide us relief. From tomorrow all the shops, government offices, private transport (except school buses and schools) etc shall remain closed for 24 hours" said President JAC.
