JAMMU, Mar 11: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Jammu in collaboration with Punjabi Adbi Sangat, Jammu organized day long on seminar on "Jammu Kashmir De Punjabi Sahit Da Vishleshan: Series- 1" at K L Saigal Hall, Jammu today. The seminar continued for the whole day. Kanwal Kashmiri, a renowned Punjabi writer from Kashmir was the chief guest. Dr. Jagbir Singh, former Dean and Head of Punjabi Department, Delhi University presided over the programme. Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, was also present on the dais. Dr Darya from Punjabi Department of Punjabi, GNU, Amritsar, presented the key note address. In his welcome address, Dr Susheel Sharma, President, Punjabi Adbi Sangat said that many factors are responsible for spreading the local languages. He added that only people cannot take the movements ahead but multipurpose strategy is needed to handle it. A Punjabi poetry collection titled 'Kavita Mere Jehi' by Dr Monojit and edition of Punjabi magazine 'Lok Vani' were released during the inaugural session. Four sessions were conducted during the seminar after the inaugural session. The emphasis of the seminar was on eight senior Punjabi writers of Jammu & Kashmir state in the first of its series. A total of forty Punjabi writers have been selected to be included in the series of such seminars. |
