JAMMU, Mar 11: Director General of Police (DGP), J&K Police and Chairperson, Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA) flagged off a Bike rally on the theme of 'Swachhta' here today from Bikram Chowk. The bike rally was organized by the Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, J&K Region to create awareness about 'Swachhta' on the theme "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan- Swachh Sarvekshan, 2018" in and around Jammu city. About 50 bikers from various biking clubs of Jammu participated in the rally. The rally started with administering of 'Swachhta Pledge' by DGP, S P Vaid and Bharti Vaid, Chairperson, J&K PWWA to DFP officials and bikers participating in the rally. Deputy Director, DFP (J&K Region) Neha Jalali was also present on the occasion. Addressing the bike riders at Bikram Chowk S P Vaid, DGP welcomed the steps taken by DFP for organizing such awareness initiatives to encourage people to be a part of the campaign. He said that society especially youth has to take lead for creating a "Clean India'. Bharti Vaid highlighted the importance of such programmes for generating momentum for Swachhta Abhiyan and for enlisting continued support from public. Neha Jalali, Deputy Director, DFP, Govt. of India, J&K region while felicitating the bikers at the culmination point at Media Centre, Panjtirthi, said community mobilization, people's support and action was essential for creating consciousness about Swachhta. |
