NYK organises awareness programme on agriculture

Kathua, Mar 20: In continuation of Yuva Aadarsh Gram Vikas Karayakaram at village Dharalla Panchayat Airwan, Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Kathua has organized awareness programme on Agriculture and allied sector to double the income of farmers.
As Prime Minister has set the targets to double the Income of farmers by 2022, Nehru Yuva Kendra Kathua organized training cum workshop today on 20.3.18, in which over 170 people participated.
In training cum workshop, Dr Ram Pal, Vet Assistant Surgeon, from Animal Husbandry Department Educate the Youth about Modern Dairy farming, Poultry farming and care of Animals for income generation and self employment.
Vishal Mangotra, Horticulture Development Officer briefed the potentialities of Horticulture in the prospective of District Kathua are ample and farmers can ear handsome amount through Horticulture.
Dr. Berjesh Arawat, Subject Matter Specialist and Dr. Vijay Kumar Sharma from Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kathua educated the youth about the modern and scientific techniques of Agriculture and scope of enhancement of Income.
Subash Gupta MDO Kathua from Agriculture Department delivered lecture on agro based industries like Mushroom cultivation, Bee Keeping, Food Preservation, Flowery culture, vegetables, cash crops are sources of income generation.
Som Datt Zard, DYC, appealed the youth and farmers to establish linkages with Agriculture and allied departments to achieve the targets of doubling the income in 2022 which is quite possible with the efforts of farmers and govt. Darwari Lal, Ex-Sarpanch presented vote of thanks and appealed the participants to follow the guidelines and directions of different departments for income generation and self employment.
