Termination of Dr Amit unconstitutional: Harsh
3/20/2018 10:17:16 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 20: Peeved over the arbitrary termination of services of Dr. Amit Kumar, Registrar Department of Anaesthesia, GMC Jammu, Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and former Minister expressed his shock over a first such case in which the sinister BJP-PDP coalition had sacked a government doctor over a 'Facebook post' meant to project the prevailing situation and state of affairs in GMC, Jammu. He was addressing a press conference in Jammu today.
Addressing the media, Harsh Dev Singh said that the baseless termination of Dr. Amit Kumar vide Govt. order no. 2378 dt.15.03.2018 under the SRO having an intention to quell the voice of the people against the wrong doings of the State government. He said that the sacked doctor had reportedly 'corrected' the Minister for Health and Medical Education Bali Bhagat who had claimed to have inaugurated a Tetanus Ward and a lift facility in the GMC, Jammu at an estimated cost of Rs.71 lakhs in a post on his Facebook account. The aggrieved doctor in his sincere comment on the post had unrobed the false propaganda by the incumbent Minister by informing that the lift was already installed which was malfunctioning and it was only repaired at a nominal expenditure. Dr. Amit's comment also read that the so called Tetanus ward was opened by shifting the already procured bed and mattresses from the store, Harsh briefed. He wondered that instead of taking a strong note of the 'whistle blowing' comments of the doctor, how the government could axe a meritorious doctor that too without any inquiry or procedure. Terming the SRO 525 as draconian order, he said that the SRO had deprived the govt. employees from their fundamental rights which had been enshrined in the Constitution of India.
