JAMMU, Mar 25: Up in arms against the state and central governments to express their anguish and outrage pertaining to the dilapidated condition of fresh water pond, the people of Manhas Mohalla, Upper Barnai, Jammu today staged a protest demonstration.
The enraged people, who had gathered at fresh water pond, Manhas Mohalla, Upper Barnai demanded early cleansing, renovation and beautification of fresh water pond to convert it into a picnic spot and thus preserve it.
Leading the protest demonstration, Advocate Nitin Bakshi said that he ran from pillar to post which included administrative officer, ministers of present state as well as central government with his application which was mainly focused on four points of cleansing, renovation and beautification of the water pond.
Bakshi demanded suction of stagnant filthy water from pond, construction of drainage on the circumference of the pond, construction of path over the drainage along the whole circumference of pond with iron grilling and spreading the layer of cemented tiles to construct a walk way along its circumference and cleansing of pond followed by filling of fresh water into the pond.
Speaking on the occasion, Bakshi said that today's protest demonstration was just an eye opener as well as a stern warning for state as well as central government. |
