| DTO enjoys security cover sans reason | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 25: An influential District Treasury Officer (DTO) posted in one of the hilly districts of the state has been enjoying a security cover without any security threat.
According to sources, the DTO allegedly in connivance of some top police officials has managed Personal Security Officer (PSO) for no valid reason.
"The DTO with the help of some police officers has managed to convince the higher authorities in police department to give him a security cover," said sources, adding that the facility is being enjoyed by the DTO without any probable security threat.
Sources said that the post of the concerned officer is not eligible for security cover owing to its less public dealing.
"The DTO has no public dealing. Moreover, his posting is also in a sensitive zone. Therefore providing security cover to such an official is just a display of power," alleged sources, adding that a security personnel is always seen flanking him.
Sources maintained that in absence of any security threat and public dealing, the DTO in question is enjoying security cover at the behest of police officials who have allegedly manipulated his case whereas other officers in districts who have magisterial powers and more public dealings have no security cover. |
