Reasi, Mar 25: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised five days training on organic farming here at Organic Training Centre, Talwara of Reasi district. The programme was organised under Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhaya Unnat Krishi Shiksha Yojana to support organic farming initiatives in the region. In this programme KVK, Reasi trained the 5th batch of 30 farmers on organic agriculture who enthuastically participated in the innovative programme. The programme was conducted under the able guidance of Vice Chancellor (VC), Dr P K Sharma. and Associate Director Extension (ADE) and Incharge of all the KVKs of SKUAST-J, Dr.R.K.Arora. The programme was sponsored by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi to promote the organic farming for the better life and safe environment. Various technical sessions were organised during this programme. While addressing the farmers, Scientist & Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi, Dr. Banarsi Lal emphasized on the scientific organic crops production to create income and employment among the farmers. He said that with the haphazard use of agro-chemicals our soil health has been adversely affected. He stressed on the eco-friendly methods for crops cultivation and food processing. |
