| Leopard poses threat to lives in Satrari | | | Early times report
Udhampur, Mar 28: People of Satrari in tehsil Majalta here are living in constant fear of a beast which many times ventures into their residential areas.
Rakesh Kumar a local resident informed that a leopard has ventured into their hamlet and the villagers are living in constant fear.
According to him, the people who go out of the village in the morning see the leopard very often. "They have to hide themselves behind trees to save themselves," he said.
He added that the villagers are scared and worried about the safety of their children and livestock. "The leopard has already attacked snimals of the nomads," he said.
He sought appropriate measures from the department of wildlife.
The concerned DFO, Sunil Singh concerning said that a team shall immediately go to the village to do the needful. |
