| Police constable killed in accidental fire | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 28: In a tragic incident, a 38 year old Police personal identified as Suresh Kumar son of Boopa Ram resident of Drubeel Chatroo today died after he was injured in an accidental fire from his own service rifle which went off inside the District Court Complex Kishtwar.
As per the details available with "Early Times", the deceased police personnel was on duty when the incident took place inside the court complex canteen where he had gone to take tea.
As soon as the incident took place, the other police personnel on duty along with some locals immediately shifted him to District Hospital Kishtwar where the doctors despite hectic efforts could not save him.
After hearing about the incident, SP Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary, Additional SP Parbeet Singh, Dy.SP HQ Nihar Ranjan along with incharge SHO Police Station Kishtwar Deepak Kumar immediately rushed to the hospital, but the deceased lost the battle for his life before police could arrange the chopper for his evacuation to Jammu.
Speaking to Early Times, SP Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary confirmed the death of Suresh Kumar as an accident.
Meanwhile after completion of all legal formalities, the dead body of the deceased cop was handed over to family members for last rites. |
