Early Times Report KISHTWAR, May 3: Around 2000 Engineers including AEEs, Xen, SEs, Chief Engineers Power Development Commissioners from Civil, Mechanical and Electrical department are on mass casual leave strike in the state in support of fulfillment of demands that are pending for long now. The demands include regularization/confirmation of services of engineers at all levels on the basis of work and conduct, integrity certificate to be issued by Head of Departments and counter signed by the concerned administrative secretaries, removal of pay anomalies at all levels, review of cadre in engineering departments and enhancement of fixed travel allowance which is presently Rs. 30/- per month. Engineers under the banner of State Joint Action Committee of All Jammu and Kashmir Graduate Engineers Associations (Civil, Electrical and Mechanical) held a strong protest at Kishtwar and called upon the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to look into the issue. Speaking to Early Times, G N Ahanger said that the burning issues of state graduate engineers of all cadres including JEs, AEs, AEEs, XENs, SEs, CEs are pending since long despite the assurances were made by the government from time to time. He said that they met the CM both at Srinagar and Jammu regarding their long pending genuine issues--particularly for release of time bound running grades/assured career progression scheme. He said that during the meetings the CM had assured that the demands being genuine will be addressed in a shortest possible time. He said that in the meanwhile the association met the Deputy Chief Minister, Finance Minister, Works Minister, Chief Secretary, Commissioner/ Secretaries of Finance, PWD, GAD, Law, Director Codes and other concerned authorities several times, with regard to their demands. He added that despite promise the minister for finance there was no mention about their demands in the announcement about the 7th Pay Commission made by the concerned minister. |
