Body of one youth recovered, two still untraced | Baramulla boat capsize | | S Tahir-ul Haq Early Times Report BARAMULLA, May 3: A joint team of police, army and local sand excavators at Sheeri area of Baramulla district on Thursday fished out a body of one among three children, who were drowned in a boat capsize in Baramulla on May 1. "Locals said that the general public especially mothers and relatives of two missing children are still waiting for the bodies of their beloved sons, while as five children had drowned on May 1. "Timely action of locals managed to rescue two kids immediately on the same day and a body was recovered today , locals told ET. However, eyewitness said, the body of third child was recovered today from Sheeri, later and the deceased was identified as Tufail Ahmad Shago, son of Abdul Rashid Shagoo, a resident of Dewanbagh. Local administration has called SDRF team, Police and Navy that has pressed motor boats and divers to trace the bodies of drowned youth after boat capsize in Baramulla. A top police official said that the one body has been fished out today by sand diggers at Sheeri, in the outskirts of Baramulla town, while the search for other two drowned children was underway till the last reports came in. It is pertinent to mention here that five children were drowned in the gushing water of river Jhelum in Baramulla town; however two were rescued after a boat capsized in a river Jhelum in Baramulla town of this north Kashmir district on May 1 (Tuesday), while as two is still untraced. Reports said that a boat carrying five persons capsized in the Jhelum after it lost the balance, while two persons namely Junaid and Azaan were rescued immediately and three others namely Anzar Wani and Shahid Ahmad are feared dead. |
