| 2 snatchers held with snatched property | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 3: Gandhi agar police today claimed to have arrested two snatchers and recovered snatched property along with motor cycle used in commission of crime from their possession.
Police spokesman said that on April 28 of 2018, a written complaint was lodged by one Shakuntla Devi of Lower Roop Nagar Janipur Jammu that two motor cycle borne boys stopped her way at Shamshan Ghat Shastri Nagar and snatched her purse containing cash, ATM cards etc.
Acting on the complaint a case under FIR No. 97/2018 under sections 341 and 382 of RPC was registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and investigation was started.
"During course of investigation on the basis of description provided by the victim and clues from reliable sources two persons namely Ajay Partap Singh alias Abu of Kachi Chawni Jammu and Ajit Sharma alias Vicky of Indra Colony Janipur Jammu were taken into custody", said police spokesman adding that during sustained questioning they confessed their involvement in above cited snatching incident and on their disclosure motor cycle bearing Registration number JKO2AV-4180 used in the commission of crime seized and snatched property was recovered.
It is pertinent to mention here that the arrested snatchers are habitual criminals and are involved in dozen of snatching/ theft cases registered in different Police Stations of Jammu district.
The arrest and recovery were made by the Police team Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia, SHO Gandhi Nagar assisted by SI Kali Charan under the supervision of DySP Rafiq Manhas, SDPO City South, Sandeep Choudhary, SP City South and Dr Vivek Gupta, SSP Jammu. |
