JKPCC expresses concern over loss of livestock in hailstorm

Jammu, May 9: Chief Spokesperson Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Ravinder Sharma (EX-MLC) and General Secretary Shri Shabir Ahmed Khan (Ex-Minister), have expressed concern over the loss of livestock of people due to hailstorm and cloudburst in several areas of Rajouri and Poonch Districts and demanded exgratia relief and compensation to the affected people.
In view of the hailstorm and cloudburst at several places in Rajouri District which have caused great loss to life, property and infrastructure, the Congress leaders have expressed their anguish and deep concern for those who have suffered due to natural calamity. They said that besides other places, Thanamandi and Ganbirmuglan are the most affected areas where livestock of nomad families (Gujjar-Bakerwals) have been affected. The infrastructure like sheds etc. have been damaged and hundreds of sheep and goat were killed.
They demanded exgratia relief for the affected people besides setting up of special teams to assess the loss in order to compensate the affected people at the earliest possible time.
The other signatories are Shakeel Mir, Saleem Naaj, Abdullah Khan, Qayoom Mirza, Mohd. Gulzar Khan, Shadi Khan, Babu Azam and Wazir Mugal.
