Babus threaten Rajouri respectable applicant of dire consequences | Year on, Social Forestry gives damn to RTI queries | | Early Times Report Rajauri, May 9: In brazen violation of norms, a coterie of allegedly corrupt officials in the Social Forestry department here have been refusing to reply to RTI queries linked to backdoor recruitments of daily wagers in the department during the present regime. Official sources said almost a year has passed but the Social Forestry department has been refusing to reply the queries as filed by one Jalal Ud Din, an area respectable. The man had filed series of RTIs: the first one a year ago, followed by another RTI six months ago and the latest one three months ago. "When I again recently visited the office, the concerned DFO and Ranger threatened to me get be booked for trying to eve-tease women working in the office. I have four daughters, who can they make such false allegations against me. This is disgusting," Din said. The applicant said through RTIs he wanted to expose that the daily wagers appointed by the previous government were replaced with fresh faces by a group of officials who charged around Rs 70,000 from each of the new recruits. "The Ranger and the DFO are involved but they are so influential that my RTIs are not being replied while I am being threatened of being booked under frivolous charges," the complainant said. When contacted an official in the Social Welfare Department endorsed the delay in reply of RTIs. Despite repeated attempts the accused officials couldn't be contacted for comments. |
