Jammu, June 3: Intensifying its movement to provide justice to the victim of rape cum murder case in Village Rassana, National Secular Forum (NSF) today stage strong protest demonstration under the leadership of Dr Vikas Sharma State President NSF. Addressing the gathering here today Dr Vikas Sharma said that Govt should honour the public sentiment and order a CBI probe so as to identify the actual culprits, without fear or favour, and to accord them exemplary punishment. Dr Vikas also said, "There is an iota of doubt about the brutality to which the little girl was subjected. Every citizen of Jammu condemns this incident and seeks death penalty to the person who committed this heinous crime. But, the way the Crime Branch probed this case raised suspicion among the people of Jammu." State President pointed out that when one section of state Police Department was reportedly found incompetent by the government to handle this case in the beginning, how the Home Department under the nose of Mehbooba Mufti can convince people of Jammu for fair investigation by the same police in the name of Crime Branch which once failed to do justifiable investigation in this case, he added. He said that people had expressed doubts over the credibility of present investigating agency, the Crime Branch, on the ground of inclusion of some officers of doubtful integrity in the enquiry committee. Among those who were present in the protest included, Papinder Singh, Manmohan Singh, Pushpinder Singh, Anshu Sharma, Shail Sharma, Munish Sharma, Rajat Verma, Akash Manjeet Singh and others. |
