Early Time Report

Rajouri, June 18: Uncanny it may sound, but the fact is that the recently transferred District Forest Officer Rajouri, Bhagwan Singh, after being served the order of transfer is reluctant to leave.
Singh, against whom a series of charges and allegations were listed by many aggrieved organizations and individuals, was finally shown the door by the regional director of IFS cadre. The director ordered Singh's immediate transfer and posting to Chief Conservator's office.
But reluctant DFO is using all means not to leave the post and is holding his office till date.
Sources in the department said that Singh is frequently contacting various ministers and high officials to whom he had been privy in supporting them by sharing the booty while as DFO Rajouri to help him stay in the office.
"It seems that after getting a move on orders from the Commissioner Secretary to vacate the office of DFO, Bhagwan Singh is still holding the post a week after his was given the marching orders," a local resident said.
As per the information, DFO is being seen and heard calling various high-ups pleading them not to shift him at Chief Conservator's office and instead transfer him at some prized posting in Jammu region.
It is pertinent to mention here that the attachment and posting orders of Bhagwan Singh were released by Commissioner Secretary Forest Saurab Bhagat under government order no. 100 dated 7/6/2018.
Nadeem Iqbal Mirza was given the charge as new DFO Rajouri. The people of the region are hoping that some sweeping changes will be made in the department so that the strong network built by Bhagwan Singh could be broken.
When asked as to why he was not relieving his office, Bhagwan Singh retorted in anger, "It is my personnel thing and you stay out of it."
