Hour before pull out, Ram Madhav called Mehbooba | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jun 19: Even as the Bharatiya Janta Party on Tuesday pulled out of its alliance with the Peoples Democratic Party, sources said the BJP informed the PDP about the decision in advance. Sources an hour before announcing the pull out in the national capital, where the BJP ministers had been summoned by the party President Amit Shah, senior BJP leader Ram Madhav personally made a phone call to Mehbooba Mufti to apprise her about the right wing party's decision to withdraw the support. Sources said Ram Madhav who was a key player in the formation of the alliance and had convinced Mehbooba to continue alliance after the death of her father and then Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed didn't want her to get a sudden shock through news conference addressed in New Delhi. "Ram Madhav Ji found it his duty to call her and keep her informed that it would not be possible to continue with the alliance any further," the sources close to the BJP leadership in New Delhi said. Sources said the PDP was not expecting such a jolt from the BJP and had taken the summoning of the BJP ministers to the national capital as a high pressure tactics. Sources said a pall of gloom descended the PDP leadership after the BJP made the formal announcement of the withdrawal of support. |
