I saw how the castles crumbled for PDP ministers
Fatal Tuesday!

Early Times Report
Srinagar, June 19: There would have been the least information available with any of the PDP ministers in the morning of June 19 that by afternoon they would find their hopes dashed and powers out rightly snatched in a jiffy.
This is exactly what happened when in the afternoon, the PDP ministers were sitting in their AC chambers at the Civil Secretariat with people lined up in queues waiting outside with pleas, desperately seeking to meet them. There were few ministers who were chairing the meetings at various places, scolding officers and bureaucrats for not adhering to the guidelines set by them.
Come fifteen past two, the phones of the ministers began to rank and so did of their secretaries, personal assistants and the people waiting outside their offices. "I witnessed first-hand what happens to a person whose power gets snatched away in a jiffy. I saw the face of my boss turning red and he began to murmur some strange things. It was only a while that I came to know from his secretary that the coalition has broken and governor's rule is in the offing in the state," says a peon posted outside the office of one of the PDP ministers.
A senior engineer said he was in the meeting with another PDP minister when the news came. "The Minister was with all zeal and zest giving directions to what should be done and how. All of a sudden, his phone rang and expressions began to change drastically. I called out the same of his PRO and asked him to prepare the vehicle for leaving. We were all in a fix about what has happened. There were few officials who even went ahead and asked the minister about whether everything is all right. Few ministers passed, all present in the meeting got the messages on phones that the coalition no longer exists. Some begun to laugh at such a sudden change of the events," the engineer said.
In Secretariat, the situation for over an hour was chaotic and turbulent. The corridors were full of men associated with the ministers, carrying important files of their Sahibs towards their vehicles. Even there were several ministers who emptied their office champers and cleared all the files that were important and pending for the disposal.
At the time when the news of the breakdown of the coalition came to fore, the Chief Minister herself was in the Secretariat along with most of her senior party ministers. As they left the Secretariat premises with faces glum, the commuters were seen rebuking the politicians. "This is how the things drastically change in Kashmir. Before an hour, the people passing in front of us were the most powerful men in the state and within moments, they have become the most perturbed lot. This keeps going and who knows what is in store for the state in the coming time," says a security official posted at the main gate of the Secretariat in Srinagar.
