Loran, July 2: An awareness camp was organized at Higher Secondary School Loran to create awareness on parthenium weed and its management by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Poonch and Deartment of Agriculture. During the programme, about 300 students, officers, staff of HSS Loran, farmers and eminent citizens of the area were present. Harjeet Singh, SMS SDL Poonch and Anshu banotra, Agri Extension Officer, Loran participated in the awareness camp and also spoke on the occasion. The main objective of the programme is to aware students about the harmful effects of congress grass on Human health, animals and crops. Dr. Ajay Gupta, I/c. Sr. Scientist & Head KVK Poonch elaborated the harmful effets of congress grass to the participants. He informed that this was one of the most noxious and fast spreading weeds which has affected play grounds, railway tracks, parks, unculivated land, roadside, industrial areas.
