| Congress activists stage protest against hike in LPG prices | | |

udhampur, July 2: Congress activists staged a protest demonstration against hike in prices of LPG cylinder here today at Slathia Chowk. The protest in which a large number of Congress activities took part was held under the leadership of senior Congress leader and INTUC state secretary Sumeet Magotra. Demonstrators were raising slogans against central government for continuously making hike in prices of Cooking Gas Cylinder. They blocked Dhar Road near Slathia Chowk for few hours. While addressing the gathering, Sumeet Magotra said that it is unfortunate the present rates of Cooking Gas Cylinder are triple (Rs 832 per subsidized gas cylinder) than during the era of UPA government. Magotra recalled the memory and disclosed that when Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister the then government increased the rates of cooking gas cylinder by only Rs 20. |
