Early Times Report rajouri, July 2: Following intelligence inputs about the suspicious movement reportedly of the anti-national elements near the border in Nowshera sector, the policeon Sunday night searched a double story building in village Pukhrani. The police after the inputs have also laid 'nakas' at several places in the Nowshera town and at other places in its vicinity but without any success. "The searches continued till late night hours and later few houses in Ward No 3 of Nowshera town were kept under surveillance for the whole night," said sources. In the wee hours today, the police searched the houses and rounded up three persons from a house along with the owner of the house namely Majid Khan, son of Mohd Din. Other three picked up by police were identified as son-in-law, his brother and nephew of Majid Khan. "The police knocked at our door and inquired about the presence of some suspicious persons, which was denied by me. But police insisted to search the house but didn't find anybody," said Tashvir Begam. Wife and son of Majid Khan said that at about 5 am police entered our house and start searching. Later cops picked up my father along with our guests, who came to join the family for religious ceremony, and took them without any further intimation. Inspector Romel Singh, SHO when contacted said concerned police stations have been contacted for providing the details about the activities of the rounded persons and if found innocent will be released. "Searches were carried out after inputs about the suspicious movement. All the persons were rounded up for further questioning and verification of their identities," said Master Popsy, Additional SP. |
