Kishtwar, July 17: As part of ongoing public awareness Campaign initiated by Bureau of Outreach & Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, J&K Region a special interactive programme during pre publicity activities was organized at Government Higher Secondary School, Bhata in palmar block of Kishtwar district.
This programme was organized under the Chairpersonship of Sunita Kumari Sharma, Principal of the Institute where as Pandit Kunj Lal Raina Ex. Naib Tehsildar was the Chief Guest of the function. A number of IEC activities were carried out to acquaint masses about various aspects and provisions of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Girdhari Lal, Ledcturer of the Institute who acted as Resource Person delivered a key note address on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and urged the audience to keep their surroundings neat and clean.
He was of the view that open defecation spreads a lot of diseases and it has become the duty of every citizen to avail benefits from Swachh bharat abhiyan for construction of Individual Household Latrines (IHHL) and its proper usage.
On this occasion a Quiz contest was organized in which 4 teams consisting of two students of the Institute participated. A team of Musharaf Irshad -Kalyani Sharma and another team of Ajay Kumar-Kumari Pooja were declared Winners and runners-up respectively.
A painting competitions in which 16 students of the Institute participated was also organized. In order of merit Sandyia Sharma, Roshan Raina and Chawi Raina were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. To preserve the environment which plays a vital role a plantation drive was also done in Premises of the Institute. Madan Gopal and Gurnam Singh, Incharge Field Outreach Bureau, Doda and Udhampur also interacted with the audience and highlighted the importance of Swachhta Action Plan-2018.
