Sources informed Early Times that Dr Sushil Sharma, Associate Professor, Punjabi, Directorate of Distance Education (DDE), JU has been continuing in his service as part of past practice of five months extensions in favour of teachers.
"The Director DDE, has recommended five month extension in favour of Dr Sharma who got superannuated from service on March 31, 2018, as continuing for next five months, on basis of recommendations made by DAC and the DDA", they said. But due to unknown reasons the acting VC has denied extension to Dr Sharma.
"The committee constituted by the VC held meeting on April 25, 2018 in the office DDA to deliberate on the matter regarding five month extension in favour of Dr Sushil Sharma, and after detailed discussion the committee resolved that as per practice in the JU and as it has been already recommend by Director DDE and DAC, the extension be given to him", sources said and added that despite lapse of three months the VC did not took final call on the matter.
