Martyred jawan cremated with full military honours | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, July 17: A soldier from Kalakot tehsil in Rajouri district, who died on Monday while on duty at Guwahati in North East, was cremated with full military honours at his native village Khadarian Bali under the jurisdiction of Kalakot police station. Soldiers from RR unit deployed in the area also present on the occasion besides large number of local people, civil and police officials. The deceased has been identified as Balwinder Singh and posted with J&K Light Infantry (Jak Li) stationed at Guwahati capital of Assam state. Reliable sources said that about 6 month ago the deceased was posted in Kashmir valley and was injured in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast. After long treatment he was shifted to Guwahati where he died on Monday. The mortal remains of the deceased were brought to Jammu by air today and later brought to Sunderbani by helicopter.
