| People protest against PMGSY authorities | | |  Early Times Report
Mendhar, July 22: The people from Gursai and adjoining villages staged a protest demonstration against PMGSY authorities for their failure to complete a six kilometres road, sanctioned in 2011.
According to villagers, the road was sanctioned under PMGSY during 2011 and the work was allotted to a local contractor. The contractor after completion of earth work abandoned the same, since then the road has turned into a muddy track full of large pits. Even it becomes difficult to move on foot, the villagers said.
This 6 kms road from Gursai Nallha to Gursai Sar will be beneficial for the population of Gursai Sar, Hundi Bahidhara, and Harooni connecting main road if completed.
The people of the area staged protest demonstration and raised slogans against Executive Engineer PMGSY Mendhar, Chief Engineer PMGSY. The people have now decided to repair this road with their own resources. They have collected money from villagers and started repair work by using own tractor trolleys. |
