| Unemployed youths called off 15 days old strike | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, July 22: The angry unemployed youths who are on strike since last 15 days called off the strike after intervention from the District Administration and assurance from the company.
As per the details available with Early Times, after going on indefinite strike since last four days following worsening of health condition of those on hunger strike, the IFCON company management reach out to the Administration and requested them for their intervention after they agreed upon the demands of the agitating unemployed youths.
The details revealed that with the intervention of District Administration Kishtwar, the unemployed youths who were on strike since last 15 days which includes 4 days hunger strike call of the protest late last evening after Administration assured them that all the demands of the people will be looked into.
On behalf of the Administration ACR Kishtwar Indeerjeet Singh Parihar meet the striking youths and people of the area and gives them assurance that the administration will intervene into the matter with regard to direct appointment of the local unemployed youths and land owners beside also agreed to bring an end to contractor system. The IFCON management has been asked to display the list of the appointees on notice board. SP Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary also accompanied ACR Kishtwar who offered the glass of juice to youths sitting on hunger strike. The officials of the OFCON company also remain present.
When contacted ACR Kishtwar confirm the breaking of fast by the unemployed youths who are on hunger strike. He said that the issue has been discussed threadbare with the angry striking youths added that the administration is overall custodian with regard to the implementation of the RR Plan as well as to implement the labor laws in letter and spirit. He said that all the genuine issues of the unemployed youths will be taken care of.
Meanwhile the unemployed youths told the Early Times that they have temporarily suspended the strike on the assurance of the Administration and police added that in case the company back track from the promises made by them. |
