| JKSRLM changes life of a poor women | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, July 29: Jammu & Kashmir State Rural Livelihood Mission JKSRLM (Umeed) has changed the life of a poor woman, living in Pouni block of district Reasi.
Chinta Devi a Self Help Group member of Sai Ram SHG who is living in a remote Village Beaulian of Block Pouni, District Reasi is a happy fish farmer who is earning a respectable livelihood out of fish farming. She received assistance from the Jammu & Kashmir state Rural Livelihood Mission JKSRLM (UMEED) in the year 2017-18 in the form of Revolving Fund (Rs 15000), Community Investment Fund (Rs 40000) & Bank Linkage (Rs 50000). The yearly production of fish from her pond of 0.3 ha is approximately 350-400 kgs and amounting to Rs 70,000 -80,000/year which contributed towards family income and improved the economic condition of the family.
The fishes produced are being sold locally and in nearby markets. She stated that besides training facilities, the UMEED has provided various aids from time to time in the form of cash, method and technical knowledge through field visits.
She expressed her gratefulness to JKRLM (Umeed) for all kinds of help and encouragement extended to her. |
