LA's Under Secy dupes Udhampur couple of lakhs
More skeletons tumbling

Early Times Report

Jammu, July 29: More skeletons are tumbling out of closet after an FIR was registered against Under Secretary of Legislative Assembly for duping people of lakhs of rupees in the grab of providing government jobs.
Now, a case of cheating a couple from Udhampur of lakh of rupees has come into light.
As per documents in possession of Early Times, the tainted official had cheated the couple from Udhampur of Rs 4 lakhs by promising them of providing government job in 2013.
"After feeling cheated, the couple had lodged a written complaint with the then Secretary LA and demanded action against the official. But no action was taken against him because of his close links to some political leaders and senior officials," sources said.
They said later a compromise was made between the couple and the tainted official. Consequently, of the Rs 4 lakhs, Rs 2 lakhs were returned to the couple by the official and he assured them that one of them will be given job in lieu of the remaining Rs 2 lakhs.
Interestingly, a written compromise was made that too on an affidavit, which was signed by some officials of LA as witnesses to hush-up the matter.
Moreover, this official had played a key role in backdoor appointments scam in LA which was proved by the State Vigilance Organization. But shockingly no FIR was lodged ostensibly due to his strong connections in power corridor, and on the contrary, he was rewarded with promotions every time despite plethora of complaints against the scandals done by him in the LA secretariat.
Not only this, this tainted official managed to adjust his son in the LA Secretariat and got him promoted within one year of his joining, sources said.
They said that he used to use official vehicle of LA with beacon light to influence and trap the gullible people.
There is an unending list of scandals committed by him. He managed to get adjusted some overage persons in LA with age relaxation which can be given by only CM. Time and again, the Governor house had also written to LA by instructing to hold enquiry against him but he was saved by his masters.
Interestingly on one such occasion, the former PDP Minister Tasaduq Mufti also sent a letter to LA against him and demanded thorough enquiry on various allegations, but the committee constituted took no action against him.
