| BOSE central office haven for 'blue-eyed' officials | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 29: The central office of Board of School Education (BOSE) has become a favourite destination for over a dozen 'blue-eyed' officials who are staying there for years together.
Despite change of guard in the state, the administration has failed to touch these officials due to reasons best known to the authorities concerned.
Sources in the BOSE informed Early Times that over one dozen officials including Deputy Secretary, Head Assistant, Section Officers, Senior Assistants and others have been serving in the central office for many years.
Sources said that these officers are enjoying political and bureaucratic patronage and they have been transferred from one post to another but in the same office and haven't served in any other office of the BOSE.
These officials include two Deputy Secretary level officers one of whom has only matriculation as qualification but has been promoted to the post, whereas two are Section Officers, one Senior Assistant and a Head Assistant.
All these officers are posted in the central office for the last over 4-8 years and have been changing their seats in the same office. Sources alleged that these 'blue-eyed' officials remained with 'Darbar' move employees and secured half yearly postings in both regions.
"Some of these officials have made a strong lobby in the office and when any official takes over a senior position in the department, they become close to him/her and manage their postings", sources said, adding that some of these officers are also involved in some scams but due to their close allegiance to power corridors, they always remain unpunished.
The officials in the BOSE said that when Governor NN Vohra had taken over reins of the state, the honest employees of Board had put high hopes over rationalization of these non-transferable employees. |
