7/29/2018 11:03:14 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, July 29, 2018: A group of Central Government Pensioners' Welfare Association (CGPWA) visited Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspecialty Hospital (SMVDNSH) at Kakryal and assessed the facilities there for central government pensioners.
Recently, the Central Government has empanelled SMVDNSH as CGHS Hospital for Central Government Pensioners on reimbursement basis. The CGHS beneficiaries would be able to get the treatment at this Hospital on CGHS rates and the expenditure incurred would be reimbursed by the Central Government Health Deptt. subsequently. The SMVDNSH is the only hospital of the state which has been empanelled for CGHS card holders after long efforts made by the CGPWA and the help extended for the purpose by the Governor Sh N. N. Vohra and Sh B. B. Vyas. Efforts are afoot to get cashless facility for CGHS beneficiaries at the Hospital shortly.
The visiting CGPWA/ CGHS group comprising 23 pensioners, interacted with Hospital authorities on providing best possible treatment on CGHS rates without any hassle. In view of the Supreme Court directions and subsequent orders issued by the CGHS, no formal reference of Govt specialist or even the Wellness centre would be required for getting treatment at SMVDNS Hospital in emergency.
The Group was conducted to various sections of the Hospital including ODPs, Emergency ward, IPD-private wards, shared ward, general wards, cardiology, medical oncology, bio-chemistry and pathology. They were given awareness lecture on the orthopedic problems of senior citizens.
During interaction, the Hospital authorities agreed to the CGPWA proposal for institutionalising awareness lectures by their specialists for senior citizens at Jammu from time to time. They would also hold a multi- specialty Health Camp at Jammu later in the year for CGPWA members, CGHS beneficiaries and other senior citizens. After the visit, the pensioners expressed their satisfaction over the specialty facilities being provided there and said that empanelment of SMVDNS Hospital under CGHS is the landmark decision for pensioners of the State.
