| Complaints of poor quality food in hostels; Committee constituted to conduct checks | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, July 31: Taking cognizance of the reports of poor quality food being provided to the inmates of the Pahari and Gujjar & Bakerwal hostels, M.A. Asad, DDC constituted team of officials from Drugs & Food Control Organization to check the quality of the food in these hostels.
He also passed strict directions for carrying out of inspections of all residential hostels, Bal Ashrams and Nari Nekatians in the district so that food quality served to students is not compromised.
Today the team members inspected mess at Gujjar & Bakarwal Hostel for Boys and Pahari Hostel at Rajouri to ascertain quality of food being served to students besides other conditions.
"The team lifted three surveillance samples including 2 samples of raw materials and one of prepared cooked food from G&B Hostel and equal number of samples from Pahari hostel & sent for analysis at Jammu to ascertain the quality of food being served to the hostel students" said Mohd Shafait, DIO.
Team members also handed over an inspection note to the concerned wardens mentioning therein various shortfalls like proper sanitation of cooking utensils and mess besides safe disposal of waste and putrefied food items so that necessary measures are taken to improve the quality of food being served in the interest of good health of students. |
