BJP high-command snubs local leaders for giving statement on Govt formation | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 31: Notwithstanding claims of local BJP leaders regarding formation of government, party's high-command is not interested to re-stitch alliance in the state of J&K where party had broken alliance with PDP. Credible sources said that high command has conveyed state unit that forming government after breaking alliance with PDP would give wrong message across the country. Party is more worried over coming Lok Sabha elections rather than forming government in J&K state which has only six Parliamentary seats. BJP had dumped PDP on June 19 only to play card of the nationalism across the nation to strengthen its base before general elections. "High command has conveyed to the state unit that instead of dreaming about forming government party leaders in J&K should concentrate more on retaining all the three Lok Sabha seats that party had won in 2014 elections", sources said and added that high command is more concerned about Lok Sabha elections. Credible sources said that some local BJP leaders who had raised the demand of forming government with some rebel groups were snubbed by the high command with the directions that decision in this regard would be taken by central leadership. Meanwhile sources said that local leaders of BJP and PDP have in the last two weeks engaged in back channel diplomacy aimed at forming a new government in the state. But tough stand taken by the high command has sabotaged this move. |
