Early Times Report JAMMU, July 31: To showcase richness of Dogra art, culture and heritage, Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan (DSS) has decided to display diverse and rich Dogra culture at Satwari School Ground Jammu on August 15. The event is being organized with the basic objective of propagating, promoting and protecting the indigenous Dogra Heritage. To conduct the function with its inherited glory, DSS cultural core committee held a meeting at Royal Estate Banquet Hall. The meeting was presided over by Chaudhary Lal Singh, founder Chairman of DSS. Various suggestions were given by the DSS members which were deliberated and included in the schedule of events. Major events will include songs and dances in all Duggar region languages including Dogri, Siraji, Bogali, Kishtwari, Poonchhi, Mirpuri, Gojri, Bakarwali and Pothohari etc. It will be a display of rich Dogra and Pahari art, culture as well as martial art. Performances by Bhaderwahi Band will also be displayed. School children will carry out march past in colorful Dogra attire. Addressing the meeting, Singh impressed upon the members to make the event a historic one by all means and standards. He desired everyone present be dressed in Dogra attire and asked ex-servicemen to be present in their side-caps and medals. It was also decided to hoist DSS Flag with the National Flag at the function venue. He appealed Dogras to hoist DSS flag on each roof top in the Jammu region as mark of Dogra pride. Another highlight of the function will be the display of Dogri cuisine, its variety and flavor in abundance for the gathering to relish. |
