Reasi, Oct 24: Reserve Bank of India organized a one day awareness programme on "Banking Ombudsman" in Govt. General Zorawar Singh Degree College, Reasi .On this occasion, P. Shimrah, Banking Ombudsman J&K, was the Chief Guest, who explained the details of the Banking Ombudsman Scheme. He talked on the financial literacy and associated principles. H.S. Verma, Secretary Banking Ombudsman Office, J&K, in his presentation discussed in detail the Banking Ombudsman System in India. He enlightened the audience about the process of complaint redressal system and Banking Ombudsman Scheme. He deliberated upon the recent initiatives taken by the banks. He also talked about the safe use of ATMs, Debit Cards, Credit Cards and mobile transactions. He advised that the customers should be cautious enough while making such transactions as the hackers can harm them. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Prof. Esar-ul - Ayub and formal Vote of thanks were presented by Dr Rakesh Bharti, Convener, Career Counselling and Placement Cell of the College. Among others present on the occasion were Dr. Prem Singh, Vice Principal, Prof Suraya Pratap Singh, Dr. Chander Mohan, Prof Kaurab Singh, Prof Suman Bala, Prof Vinay Lata, Prof Dheeraj Bhardwaj and Prof Swati Dutt. |
