| CGPWA celebrates J&K's Accession Day | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 29: The Central Government Pensioners' Welfare Association J&K, Jammu (CGPWA) today celebrated Jammu & Kashmir's 72nd Accession Day.
Many members spoke on the historic day with historical events leading to creation of Pakistan under two-nation theory, provision of uniform Instrument of Accession for the Rulers of 562 Princely States, signing of Instrument of Accession by Maharaja Hari Singh on 26th October, 1947, its ratification by the J&K Constituent Assembly on 6th February, 1954 and constitutionality and finality of Accession.
The former Chief Vigilance Commissioner & former DGP, J&K, Kuldeep Khoda specially participated in the celebrations and hailed the initiative of the members for celebrating Accession day.
Among others who spoke on the occasion were M. A. Anjum IPS (Retd) former IGP and J. K. Vaid former Director of GSI and Secretary of the CGPWA who emphasized the need for celebrating the historic day without bringing in politics.
The President of the Association, S. S. Wazir former ADGP presided over the special function dedicated to the Accession Day. In his brief address he congratulated the members for celebrating the Day with gusto.
He also congratulated the Association for betting cashless medical treatment facility at CGHS empaneled SMVD Narayana Superspecialty Hospital, Kakryal and visit of central CGHS team to Srinagar tomorrow to finalise Wellness Centre at Srinagar.
M.A. Anjum hosted the celebration.
It was decided that hence forth the CGPWA will be celebrating Independence Day, Republic Day and Accession Day at Day Care Centre with hoisting of national flag. |
