| Hand pumps lying defunct in Gultha, people cry for water | | |  M S Nazki

MENDHAR, Jan 30: Water hand pump of village Centre Gultha in Mendhar Sub Division of district Poonch is lying defunct for the last five months but the concerned department is apathetic, while as concerned people are crying for drinking water.
People alleged that the village Centre Gultha hand pump had gone dry for the past few months as a result of which the villagers are virtually left with no other source of drinking water and people are facing acute shortage of drinking water.
Waqar Khan Social Worker said that since the hand pump are lying defunct there is no other facility of drinking water supply in the village the people have been left at the mercy of god in these days. He added that the people have to travel at least 8km daily to bring water for bathing, washing and drinking. |
