Tehsildar Pouni abandons office, public left to suffer | | | AB Sharma
Early Times Report Sunderbani, Jan 30: Allegedly skipping his official works on the pretext of meetings, Tehsildar Pouni kept general public to repeatedly visit his office even for a minor work. According to locals, the Tehsildar does not attend the public properly and most of the time remains absent from the office, going a further, his subordinate staff also remains absent from the office. "I went to Tehsil office today, for issuance of Caste Certificate, required for Army's recruitment rally, I found both Tehsildar, and Niab Tehsildar absent, and a huge crowd of masses waiting there of various works related to Revenue department", said Raman Sharma, a resident of village Kothian in Pouni Tehsil of District Reasi. He added that an lower rung official suggested him to go to Girdawar, the only Tehsil official who was present in the office. "When I approached him with application seeking issuance of Caste Certificate, in reply to my request he threw the file on me and directed me to leave. I felt humiliated", he said. It is not story of Raman Sharma alone, entire population of the area is weary of absenteeism, especially in Tehsil office. When contacted, Tehsildar, who was not in Pouni said, "Girdawar is not competent authority for issuing any certificates". "You could approach Divisional Commissioner or even Governor if you want" he said rudely. |
