Mehbooba's attempt to mollify annoyed leaders failed | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 30: Former Chief Minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti's attempt to mollify annoyed leaders has failed to yield any result because 'dissidents' have asked party president to shun 'communal and separatist' agenda to give secular look to the party founded by statesman like Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. Credible sources said founder members of the party, who are associate of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed from the days of Congress and Janta Dal have registered their protest over changing ideology of party from a secular group to communal and parochial outfit. "Virtually influenced by the ill-advices of his communal advisors, Mehbooba Mufti has not given any assurance to the founder members to pursue progressive and secular agenda of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed", sources said and revealed that founder members of the party, who are annoyed with incumbent leaders for abandoning late Mufti's Mohammad Sayeed's visit are not convinced with assurance of Mehbooba Mufti. Mehbooba Mufti this morning reached PDP office to hold interaction with party leaders. All annoyed leaders including some founder members of the party have boycotted Mehbooba's meeting and decided not to visit the office. For the last 15 days these leaders are not attending party office after appointment of former Congress man Hamid Choudhary as vice president of the party by ignoring genuine leaders. |
