| Everyone, in the world, vociferously claims that there is nobody in the world like him who can equal him in qualities like tolerance, patience, perseverance, dutifulness, friendship and as an ideal life partner. But adversity in one's life is the touchstone where all these qualities and virtues of a person are tested and verified. Any citizen who enjoys the freedom, liberty, rights, concessions, amenities of a country, should invariably imbibe nationalism with a resolve to stand by the nation through thick and thin. In India there are many versions of nationalism suiting to one's need/ease and comfort. There are no conflicting, controversial definitions of nationalism in any nation. A lay man's nationalism means 'Nation first, region second, religion third and me last.
The true nationalism can be enunciated as a 'sense of loyalty towards one's own nation. It creates psychological bond with the nation'. The architect of Indian constitution BR Ambedkar defined nationalism as INDIAN FIRST,INDIAN LAST NOTHING ELSE BUT INDIAN. According to DR. S. Radha Krishnan, 'nationalism and national integration can not be built by bricks and mortar, it cannot be built by chisel and hammer. It has to grow silently in the minds and hearts of its citizens. It is tragedy that our political leaders whether in power or in opposition drape the nationalism in such away as can help them achieve their hidden lustful and covetous objectives. The deteriorating faith of our political leaders in democratic set up of the country has brought their nationalism and patriotism under scanner. Though our political leaders overtly appear nationalists to the backbone but covertly their nationalism is tagged with conditions. The behavior, which our politicians have been exhibiting for the last decade indicate that the conditions apply for their nationalism. They are true nationalists and patriots so long as they are in power or else they turn the barrels of their guns towards India and Indian constitution and start spitting venom only to appease the hardliners hell bent destabilize the country lock, stock and barrel.
It is saddening to observe that many a representatives belonging to some political parties support the objections of singing National Anthem and Vande Matram under frivolous reasons most probably to milk the vote bank. Standing of some foreign funded NGOs and biased intelligentsia of the country with Yakub Memon, Afzal Guru and Burhan wani, endorsing the venomous speeches of Kanhaeya and the slogans BHARAT TERE TUKDE HONGE INSHA ALLAH INSHA ALLAH shouted by his accomplices In JNU campus by the political leaders of the country, encouraging the Kashmiri youth hurling Pak And ISIS flags in the valley, financing and patting the back of the stone pelters and the terrorists has become the modus operandi of their course of action. The controversial, seditious and anti national statements given by our parliamentarians, legislators, political leaders, the intelligentsia and NGOs from time to time over the terrorist attacks in different parts of the country in general and the valley in particular have spared no efforts in lowering the prestige of the nation in the international fora.
The heads of the nation hang in shame over the kind of the statements our disgruntled honorable MPs, Legislators, political leaders, and the sympathizers of Pakistan and China sitting in the august houses of parliament and the legislative assemblies of the states, justifying the terrorism, stone pelting and the terrorist attack on the army Jawans in the valley. Whether it is attack on the army camp in Uri, Udhampur, Sanjwan, Air base Pathankot , stone pelting incidents, the recent Pulbama car bomb attack on CRPF convoy or on the withdrawl of state security from the enemies of the nation our national leaders have always shown their support and solidarity with the separatists and the perpetrators of terrorism instead of condemning.
There is no such occasion in the political history of democratic country like India when our power Hungary politicians have not converted such occasions in a political and blame game to gain political mileage even by appeasing the hardliners. Our politicians have not learnt how to keep their mouth shut during critical and important situations. Let us go through the venomous statements given by some of our national leaders from time to time on terrorism and antinational activities which always helped volatizing the situation and fanning the fire of terrorism. P. Chidambrum "The Kashmir was lost because the central government used brute force to quell dissent". This statement proved like music to the ears of Pakistan which is funding, aiding and training terrorists.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah ,Always blowing hot and cold with the same breath on terrorism in Kashmir. -While out of power he uttered that Kashmir is not the Jagir of India. Kashmir Dilli walon ke baap ki nahin. 'the new generation of terrorists is fighting for independence'. But when the same man was in power he called for the bombardment of the Pakistan and destroying the militants camps there.
Omar Abdullah went one step ahead saying,' The Nagrota attack was a result of statements made by various Indian ministers against Pakistan.'
Gulam Nabi Azad Compared de monetization with the attack on army Jawans in Uri saying, 'The Pakistanis did not kill even half of the Jawans in Uri than those who died due to the government de monetization policy'.

On PUlwama attack she warned the Indian security forces not to touch the local youth during the search operation and also warned India not to wage war against Pakistan a nucleur country and suggested resumption of talks immediately.
The whole nation felt ashamed and was taken aback over the irresponsible, communal and provocative statement given by the ex Vice President of India, second citizen of the country, constitutional head, custodian of the democratic values of the nation when he said ' The Muslim community is unsafe in the country.'
It is well said most of the Indian politicians are the opportunists, sheer turn coats, Chameleons, selfish, unpredictable, clever and incredible. They always put on the persona of patriotism, and nationalism on their face. Their nationalism and patriotism is always subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions. They pose as patriot and true nationalists so long as they are in power otherwise they behave like the agents of the enemy country, advocates of the subversive forces active in the country. A true nationalist is one who does not hesitate sacrificing his life for the sake of his country without any selfish motive. |
