Tricolour - The most dearer to the countrymen
4/9/2019 8:59:24 PM
R.B.Suri

The people of Kashmir valley don't respect the Tricolour at all which is very much dearer to all of us in the country. On the contrary, they have the great love and affection for the Pakistani flag which is highly deplorable. Since 1989 the successive State Governments in the past remained a total failure in keeping the Indian flag up in the valley. The rulers who remained at the helm of affairs in the state should be ashamed of this act. They don't have the respect of the motherland. This is because of the reason that they don't have played any role in the freedom struggle against the British government for getting the Independence from the clutches of the slavery. In the valley one doesn't find any Tricolour except in Civil Secretariat, J&K High Court Complex and the Raj Bhawan of course. The people of the valley are not responsible only for this unwanted act but the State Government is also very much responsible on this score which should be condemned by all the countrymen. We all should be ashamed of it. Every now and then, some attempts were made in the past for keeping the Indian flag up at Lal Chowk in the heart of Srinagar city but were foiled by the antinational elements in the valley as also by the state police of the State Government for the best reasons known to them only. And the nationalists who made these attempts were arrested and put behind the bars. Keeping the Tricolour up in this great country is not an offence but still the people who made the attempts for keeping it up in the valley were harassed by the masses in Srinagar as also by the security personnel and rather they suppressed the national elements like any thing which is condemnable. Mercilessly they were beaten up for doing this noble act. Whenever the security forces foil such like attempts and didn't allow the nationalists, the people of the valley got the green signal that any case the Tricolour will not be up in the Lal Chowk they get encouraged always and go on doing whatever they like to please the neighboring country Pakistan which is bent upon to disturb the path of development and prosperity in the valley. Similar situation still exists even during the President rule in the state. It is worth mentioning here that once a great leader and former President of BJP Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi made an attempt to go to Srinagar by road for keeping up the Tricolour at Lal Chowk Srinagar,he was arrested at Udhampur on the National highway IA and taken into custody by the state police and he was airlifted to Srinagar for the desired task and ultimately he succeeded in his attempt. When one goes in New Delhi, UP, Rajasthan, MP, Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Oorisa, Utranchal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and other places of the country, he or she would find Tricolour everywhere as the countrymen love the same with great affection and honour. In New Delhi one finds Tricolour every where with proud. For the sake of Tricolour, one becomes ready to die even. Further, I want to apprise the readers of this paper that you will find the giant Tricolour at Ridge in Shimla (HP)which is a place of attraction for the tourists visiting Himachal Pradesh for their enjoyment. Tricolour at this famous place adds to the beauty of hill station and the people feel proud of the same. Parties flags are also important but on the election fronts but certainly the Tricolour maintains the edge over all these flags and it should be given the preference always. On one side the political leaders who ruled this sensitive state in the past such as Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti whementaly are urging the Union Government not to revoke the Articles 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution and in any case the special status of Jammu and Kashmir should not be touched at all otherwise J&K ceases to be the part of India and it will be treated as the occupied one as the POJK at present is with Pakistan forcefully and on the other side they did not want the Tricolour. Really this double standard of the working on the state polity. They always remain extremely busy in putting the Central Government in fix. Since presently the state of Jammu and Kashmir is under President Rule, the Governor Satya Pal Malik is functioning well in close coordination with the Army Chief Bipin Rawat and doing the concerted efforts in curbing the terrorism from the state. He is being assisted by the four Advisors and Chief Secretary. NIA and the Authorities of the Income Tax Department of GOI are also working hard in carrying out the required Investigations in the crimes and the offences committed by the Separatists, Hurriayat Amalgamation and the Big businessmen of the state in evading the huge amounts of the Income tax due from them. The Army Chief Bipin Rawat is on the job for the total elimination of the militancy in the state. Without caring for the importance of the TRICOLOUR, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti are raising the bogey of Article 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution and restoring of the Institutions of Sadar-e- Riyasat and the Prime Minister for the J&K state. In my earlier articles on the issues involved, I had made the position very clear and once again I am to apprise the readers of this esteemed paper which is the true voice of the people of the state that every citizen of this land is well aware of the fact the issues of the Article 370 and Article 35A are sub judice before the Supreme Court of India for disposal. When everybody knows that the issue involved is before the law of the land, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti should not make so much hue and cry over the matter ? Let the Apex Court of the country decides the issue involved on the merits of the case. They are using the issue involved for their vested political interests in the state. Regarding the Institutions of Sadar-e- Riyasat and the Prime Minister for the J&K state is concerned I am to submit that Omar Abdullah raised the bogey of the Institutions of the Sadar-e- Riyasat and Prime Minister for the state in terms of the Instrument of Accession signed by the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir Hari Singh in October 1947, just for exploiting the people of the valley against the Indian government for his party's vested interests. The chapter of Sadar-e- Riyasat and Prime Minister was closed during the regime of the great patriot and the former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri in 1965 when the state was being governed by the INC. At that time the nomenclature of the Institutions of the Sadar-e- Riyasat and Prime Minister for the state in terms of the Instrument of Accession signed by the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir Hari Singh in October 1947,were changed and certain other measures were taken to demolish the barriers hitting the state affairs. Branch of INC was established at that time and earlier the Congress people in the state were operating under the banner of National Conference. There was no role of the Election Commission of India ( ECI), Supreme Court of India, Comptroller and Auditor General of India. The question of reopening of the issue involve does not arise at all at this stage. Therefore it is totally foolish on the part of Omar Abdullah to raise this issue unnecessarily which he should note please. During the WAR, when our Armed forces capture any Picket or the Chowki of the enemy, the soldiers fighting the war immediately install the Tricolour over there immediately warning the enemy- Don't come to our side hence forth. The leaders of the various political parties in the state are contesting the election every now and then under the provisions of the Indian Constitution, they should give the due regards to the tricolor. Since I have discussed about the importance of the Tricolour in the preceding lines of this article, I am of the opinion the Governor' administration should install the Tricolour at Lal Chowk in Srinagar (like at Ridge in Shimla) permanently so that the people of the valley and the visiting tourists get the "PRERNA" from it always. Not only this, since the J&K is an integral part of India it becomes obligatory on the part of the State Government to install the Tricolour at Lal Chowk Srinagar immediately resulting which there would not be any attempt to hurl it at the same location. This would go a long way in building the strong bonds between J&K and the rest of the country.
