| "Major narcotic smuggling bid foiled at Jammu" | | Drug Smugglers detained, vehicles seized | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 9: Continuing its drive against Narcotics, SOG Jammu today recovered four kilograms of Charas in two different raids at Ban toll plaza and in Sidhra area respectively.
In one incident sleuths of SOG Jammu in association with Police party of PS Nagrota on a tip off intercepted one Tavera vehicle and seized 02 kilograms of Charas from the possession of its driver who was transporting the contraband from Srinagar towards Jammu in a Tavera vehicle bearing registration No. JK03 8186 at Ban toll plaza Check Post under the jurisdiction of Police Station Nagrota this evening .
The accused has been identified as Mohd Alam Dar s/o Abdul Gani Dar r/ o Sangam, Anantnag. The Narcotic smuggler has been arrested and Charas was seized. In this connection, a Case stands registered against the said narcotic smuggler under relevant sections of NDPS Act at PS Nagrota and further investigation is going on.
In another operation, sleuths of SOG Jammu in association with Police party of PP Sidhra intercepted one truck bearing registration No. JK02CC-8111 and seized about 02 kilograms of Charas from the possession of its driver who was also smuggling the contraband from Srinagar towards Punjab in the truck.
The accused has been identified as Sandeep Singh s/o Shiv Dass r/o Dharmound tehsil Batote of district Ramban. The drug smuggler has been arrested and case to this effect stands registered at PS Nagrota. The whole exercise was closely monitored by SSP SOG Jammu Sandeep Mehta- JKPS and was carried out under the supervision of SSP Jammu Tejinder Singh. |
