PS Kumral faces official neglect; 8 classes run in single room | | | Abid Hussain Wani Early Times Report Doda, June 03: Government upper primary school Kumral is facing official neglect.The school is located 56 kms away from district headquarters Doda, with 30 students on roll and three teachers posted. The school lacks basic infrastructure, as it has only one class room used for 8 classes. The school staff as well as students are facing extreme hardships during teaching learning process. Beside this the school lacks play ground, and the kitchen shed of school is not worth using. On receiving various complaints Team DRYWA along with President Fareed Ahmed Naik visited the spot and listend to the sufferings of students. In his statmet Farid Ahmed Naik alleged that the school lacks basic infrastructure and is functioning without class rooms and playground. The teachers of institutions are hard working and trying out their best to focus on all-round development of Children, but unfortunately they have no suitable environment to carry on their job. Farid Ahmed Naik demandend quick regarding the reconstruction of basic infrastructure of School, he appealed the officials concerned department and Governer Administration to look into the matter as soon as possible so that Students and teachers can't suffer anymore. While speaking to Early Times, locals alleged that the school was upgraded in 2013 and three class rooms were constructed but due to use of substandard material by local contractors the roof collapsed. The further alleged that duiring 2013-16 fifty students were enrolled and staff strength was five, but the number of studends decreased and total staff staff strength rolled down to three. They added that the authorities of concerned department are acting as mute spectators and the future of students, belonging to weaker sections is getting spoiled. |
