Forest Deptt retrieves 125 kanals encroached forest land | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 3: Forest Department retrieved about 125 kanals of forest land from encroachers in village Bermini Nallah. The operation was conducted in the supervision of Sat Paul, IFS Divisional Forest Officer Jammu. A team of forest officials led by Range Officer Bahu Varinder Singh Manhas and Abdul Hamid Kohli Block Officer Chowadi removed encroachment from Compartment No. 4/Chowadi at Barmini Nallah of Chwoadi Block and retrieved back 125 Kanals of Forest land from the clutches of encroachers. Despite resistance from the encroachers the operation was successfully conducted by the forest team and evicted the encroachers who were trying to encroach upon Forest land worth lakhs of Rupees. The said land has been fenced by Forest Department. The Divisional Forest Officer Jammu mentioned that on specific information the Forest team was constituted for removal of said encroachment. However, the forest team was able to retrieve back the forest land. He added that the department is taking measures to prevent encroachment on Forest Land. He added that the anti encroachment drive in the Jammu Forest Division is going on and filed staff is vigilant. He further added that the Forest Department is taking measures to prevent encroachment on Forest Land and the encroachers will not be spared at any cost. |
