No blanket ban on fire crackers in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, June 6: Though it has become difficult for the common masses to judge the sounds between the fire crackers as the same makes sound like of bullets and grenades during encounters that usually occurs in the valley.
It has become difficult to visit in the public parks, playgrounds, or in an open market especially during the festivals like on Eid, Besakhi or Holi in Kashmir valley, said Ab Rashid from Srinagar.
A local resident of Srinagar city said that, despite chilling weather, the people in general and youth in particular were seen busy in bursting of fire crackers in almost all the public parks since yesterday.
This is not only happening in Srinagar but in all districts of Kashmir valley and elsewhere in rest of the country, but people get feared when a fire crackers make sounds like of grenades and other war like weapons.
Nuzhat from Baramulla district telephoned early times and said that, the government must put a blanket ban on fire crackers, i am not against any festivity or celebrations, but it disturbs everyone as these fire crackers make sounds like of big bangs.
"Yesterday at 9:45 pm we closed our doors as the fire crackers gave an impression of encounter like situation, but immediately got understood that it might be fire crackers on Eid, narrated Nuzhat.
It is understood that, todays fire crackers are very solid and explosive that could make any damage if not used with present state of mind.
Undoubtedly it must be said that these fire crackers are making air and noise pollution, as one believes that our environment has got disturbed of which we are facing day today unexpected rains in Kashmir valley, said Fayaz Ahmad, a student of Environmental studies.
A group of people said that govt must put a blanket ban on fire crackers in Kashmir, as the situation is not good, and people gets confused what the big bang sound implies.
Meanwhile there are reports that a teenage boy from Tangmarg area got accidentally injured after fire crackers got bursted before his eyes. Sahil Bashir Chopan S/o Bashir Ah Chopan, a resident of Khonchipora village in Tangmarg area got partially injured after fire crackers hit his eyes, said reports.
It said that, Sahil Bashir,was walking in the Street and crackers got bursts in between his eyes with high intensity, resulted into severe injuries to his eyes.
Fire crackers are being openly sold on shops and kids get it easily without any precautionary measures and the government has made silence over its open sale, and with the result people want a blanket ban on fire crackers in Kashmir valley.
