Wild animals keep coming to residences of Kashmir politicians | Now leopard seen outside BJP leader's house | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 6: A few days after a snake was caught from the residence of former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Gupkar Road here, a leopard was seen outside the residence of senior BJP leader Khalid Jahangir. Sources said the leopard was seen at the main entrance of the BJP leader in the night hours when the security deployment had spotted him. "The same was later confirmed on the CCTV footage where we saw a big leopard on the move in the area," said a police official on the condition of anonymity. Sources said the police was trying to see from where the leopard could have managed to come outside the residence of the BJP leader and that the Wildlife department has been informed about the development. Sources said the Wildlife department officials are likely to visit the area for a survey. It is pertinent to mention that during a previous Muslim festival, a bear was seen in the lawns of the same BJP leader. Sources said the bear had that day left after spending few hours in the area. Before that a cobra was caught at the residence of then Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in 2017 in Jammu from her official residence. The Cobra was finally shifted from her residence by special team of officials from the Wildlife Department. The snake caught recently from the residence Omar Abdullah was freed Dachigam National Park. Sources said the Jammu and Kashmir government was contemplating to keep some wildlife department squads dedicated in VIP areas in Srinagar close to forests. "Wildlife is now becoming like security concern in areas like Gupkar and thus we plan to have special survey," said a senior official. Sources said a decision on the issue would be taken at a high level meeting.
