Jammu, June 6: J&K Grameen Bank organized 38th Financial Literacy & Awareness Programmes on 3rd day of RBI's promoted Financial literacy Week- June 3-7, 2019
According to press release the Financial Inclusion and Insurance Department under the chairmanship of Sh.Janak Raj Angural organized thirty eight Financial Literacy and Awareness programmes under RBI's promoted Financial Literacy Week- June 3-7, 2019.
Four Regional Offices of the Bank Jammu, Kathua-Samba, Rajouri-Poonch and Kupwara were involved in the conduction of these camps. Out of these 38 camps; RO Jammu conducted 11, RO Kathua-Samba conducted 13, RO Rajouri-Poonch conducted 8 and RO Kupwara conducted 6, thereby, completing coverage of total 152 villages on the first three days of RBI's promoted Financial Literacy Week.
Tejinder Singh, Panch being one of the chief guest at the camp held at village Makhanpur Gujran under Branch office Simbal More, welcomed the gathering and besides talking over major social security schemes, he also spread awareness about various types of fraudulent activities prevalent in the market to dupe innocent people of their hard earned monies and, thereby, urged the gathering to beware of such frauds.
Rashpal Choudhary, Branch Head (Simbal More) J&K Grameen Bank,welcomed the gatheringand impressed upon them to make best use of available schemes especially for rural sector like KCC crop loan, Dairy Loan, PMFBY, PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY, insurance products etc. in accordance to their need and requirement and if these are utilised in a proper way, they can make a better turnaround in the rural economy. He also highlighted the benefits of digital banking and cash less economy. He encouraged the gathering to approach the Grameen bank and avail hassle free and reasonable loans under various schemes like KCC, PMEGP, etc. for their overall growth & development.
Mohd. Abdullah Dar, Sarpanch, another chief guest at the camp held at village Audoora under Branch office Kalamabad, welcomed the gathering He give a detailed overview of various lending and deposit schemes of the Bankoffered at lucrative interest rates. He also highlighted that insurance of all types is available at bank branches which the customers can avail in a hassle free manner.He narrated various incidents of frauds including ATM frauds and the mechanism of such frauds so as to make the gathering well educated about such nefarious activities.
Mohd. Ishaq Ganai, Branch Head (Simbal More) J&K Grameen Bank,welcomed the gatheringand talked in brief about various social security schemes like APY, PMSBY, PMJJBY, etc. and the positive change these have brought in our day to day lives. So he stressed upon availing these schemes by those who have yet not enrolled under these schemes. He said that the bank will make all possible efforts to ensure that each and every family of the state is covered under financial inclusion initiative, thereby, leading them to the path of development and prosperity.
