JAMMU, June.6 : Samar strikers trounced KC Sports Club by 13 runs in a thrilling contest and lifted the 2nd Police Public Cricket Premier League which has been organized under the Chairmanship of MK Sinha IGP Jammu at KC Sports Club Jammu . The league was organized by Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu in collaboration with KC Sports Club and Vishal Club Jammu and and the executive/organizing committee members of the league includes Sujit Kumar DIG Jammu, Tejinder Singh SSP Jammu, Rajesh Sharma SO to IGP Jammu, Arjun Choudhary MD KC Sports Club, Ranjeet Kalra, Hilal Rather, Prashant Mahajan CPO, Farooq Ahmad SP Headquarters Jammu, Suram Singh SP Rural, Hamid Choudhary Dy.SP DAR Jammu, Sudhir Singh, Sanjeev Mahajan, Sham Singh Langey, Saleem-Ur-Rehman, Vijay Saberwal, Sanjeev Sharma, Karan Singh, Madan Kumar and Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting officer/Former Ranji Player and Organizing secretary of the event. The slogan of the league was "let our Junior Cricketers smell the aroma of IPL at Jammu with J&K Police". The ten participating teams which includes which includes Horizon Kings, KC Sports Club, Vriddhi Royals, Patel Cricket Club, Count & fitness Hurricanes, Samar Strikers, KC Royals, GSI Tigers, The Game Changers and AKN Strikers.The franchise owners include Arjun Choudhary, Ankush Abrol & Ramesh Mahajan, Ashish Singh, Sukhjinder Singh, Tajinder Singh, Avinash Kumar, Ramanpreet Singh Wazir, Vijay Sharma, Sharukh Pathan and Ashok Choudhary. The official sponsors of the league includes J&K Bank, Vivo, J&K Police, KC Sports Club, 92.7 big FM, Simula Sports Club, Boby 74, Surya Milk, ACC Cement, Pir Panchal Construction Ltd., Nar Nayran Seva Ashram, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor, Rivazo Homes and Teg Infra. MK Sinha IGP Jammu was the Chief Guest in the closing function who distributed the trophies and cash award of Rs.1 lac. to winning team and Rs.50,000/- to the runner team in the presence of SS Wazir (Retd.ADGP), Sujit Kumar DIG Jammu, Tejinder Singh SSP Jammu, Raju Choudhary Chairman KC Group of Industries, Arjun Choudhary Managing Partner KC Sports Club, Ranjeet Kalra Cricket Promoter, Sidhant Choudhary Director Ramada Hotel Jammu, SSP Rajesh Sharma, Kulbir Singh SSP PCR, Amritpal Singh SP North, Sandeep Mehta SP Operation, Suram Singh SP Rural, Farooq Kaiser SP Headquarters Jammu, Sham kalsotra Member JKCA,Rajesh Gill Chief prosecuting Officer and YS Slathia SDPO Domana, In his address, IGP Jammu lavished praise for the organizers for conducting the event smoothly and successfully and said that the J&K Police department is committed to involve the young students in sports activities so that they may not derail from the main stream and to provide them professional platform so that they get maximum exposure while playing with rest of India and international players. He also complimented the Organizing Committee for involving some peoples from civil society in conducting mega event titled Police Public Cricket Premier League for youths of the state. He also assured the participant cricketers for organizing more such big events in near future. Earlier, in the summit clash, Samar Strikers won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 123 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Sumit Chikkara top scored with 41 runs , while Dipesh ( 40) contributed to the total. From Bowling side Agastaya took 4 important wickets, Kamalpreet Singh 2 wickets while Anmol Rana claimed 1 wicket. In reply, KC Sports Club managed to score 110 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs thus lost the match by 11 runs. Kamalpreet played a good innings of 26 runs, while Amanpreet Singh (20) and Musaif (11) were the other contributors for their team. For Samar Strikers, Harjeet took 4 wickets while Sumit Chikkara and dipesh claimed 1 wicket each . Sumit Chikkara was adjudged man of the match in the final match with a cash prize of Rs.2000 along with a gift hampers from Ramada Hotel and Vivo, Agastaya Sharma declared Best Bowler with a cash prize of Rs.15,000 along with a gift hampers from Ramada Hotel and Vivo, Tarun Bisht was declared Best Batsman with a cash prize of Rs.15,000 along with a gift hampers from Ramada Hotel and Vivo whereas Sumit Chikkara was declared man of the series award with a cash prize of Rs.20,000 along with a gift hampers from Ramada Hotel and Vivo for alround performance in the tournament. The matches were officiated by Saleem Ul Rehman,Sudhir Singh, Amit Gupta Sadiq Husain,Sham Singh, Gurvinder Singh, Ashok Kumar and Ashok from Lukhnow Third Umpire. The proceedings of the valedictory function were conducted by famous anchor Justina Victor, Archana and Rakesh Koul whereas Vote of thanks presented by Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer & Org.
